The theme for Book Week this year was Find Your Treasure, and the Parade proved to be a colourful and joy-filled celebration of all the books that we treasure.

There were Grumpy Cats and Itchy Bears, Very Hungry Caterpillars and shy ladybirds, pugs, Paddingtons, a whole lot of princesses and even a treehouse or two!

The Resource Centre was transformed into a spectacular underwater paradise, complete with vivid coral, cheeky sea-creatures and a mysterious and alluring treasure chest. New books to treasure were snapped up at the wildly successful Scholastic Book Fair, while a Junior Primary art exhibition, inspired by this year’s short-listed books, also attracted plenty of visitors.

Many thanks to the Library staff and volunteers for their hard work hosting the Book Fair and their creative vision transforming the Resource Centre. We hope that Book Week 2018 has given many families some precious memories to treasure for a long time!

Two days after Book Week, Cedar College was visited by over 400 Grandparents and Grandfriends last week, who enjoyed a range of items and activities as we celebrated Grandparents Day.

Our grandparents were welcomed by our Primary School band, along with the opportunity to enjoy a brief morning tea. The students then presented their various performances with a concert for their special audience. The items included a “stomp” percussion piece, dance, poems, songs, and videos. The performances were definitely a highlight of the day, bringing much joy and laughter to our grandparents. The performance were followed by the opportunity to spend time in the classroom together, taking part in a number of fun activities.
