Chapel and Assemblies
At Cedar College, learning, leading, singing, and serving are all part of the journey. Our weekly Chapels and Assemblies are a time for students to build confidence, celebrate achievements, and explore faith together in a fun and welcoming space.
Each week, both the Primary School and High School come together for their own Assembly. These times are full of energy and creativity, giving students the chance to take part in activities such as public speaking, singing and band performances, storytelling, and drama.
The Primary School Chapel and Assembly offer wonderful opportunities for every year level to be involved throughout the term. During Assemblies, classes share what they’ve been working on and present activities or items they’ve prepared, with class and individual awards also being presented. Chapel times focus on singing and learning about God from the Bible in a fun and engaging way, with students often helping to tell Bible stories and joining in with games.
High School Chapel is a special time for students in Years 7–12. Each week, our Cedar Pastor and student leaders help lead the program, creating a welcoming and encouraging space. Students enjoy hearing from guest speakers, the Cedar Chapel Band, and each other as they meet together. The focus of High School Chapel is practical teaching from a biblical perspective, often exploring real-life issues that teenagers face today.
Primary School Chapel and Assembly
Our Primary School Chapel and Assembly take place on alternating Friday afternoons, from 2:35pm to 3:10pm (some exceptions may apply). We’d love parents, caregivers, and friends to join us — you are warmly invited to sit in the reserved seats at the back of the Auditorium, while students sit with their class groups.
High School Chapel
High School Chapel is held each Monday in the Main Auditorium, from 12:40pm to 1:15pm. This is a special time set aside for High School students to meet together, and is generally not open to visitors.
The High School also hosts the annual Not Ashamed of the Gospel sessions — a student-led time packed with practical workshops, live worship, and real conversations, involving students from a range of schools across Adelaide.
Chapel times are also a chance for students to step up as leaders, sharing their faith stories and encouraging their peers to explore a personal relationship with Jesus.
