Welcome to the 2022 School Year

I hope everyone had an enjoyable break and found time to rest and re-energise together as a family. As students return to on-campus learning this week, I would like to extend a special welcome to those families who are joining the Cedar College community for the first time this year.

It has certainly been an unusual beginning to the school year with a mix of learning at school and home. Many students will be out of routine, while others may be excited or apprehensive.

cedar newsIt is important to show patience with our children and demonstrate positivity about the start of the new school year. Emphasise with your child(ren) that home and school are a partnership and that together we can help make school life both positive and rewarding. A calm environment is the most effective for learning and a smooth transition back to school will set your child(ren) up for success.

My sincere thanks to all parents who have entrusted students into our care for another year. The community at Cedar, and the relationships we sustain, are the strength of our community. Our dedicated staff and supportive parents are a strong recipe for success. We encourage our students to be creative, collaborative and innovative in their academic studies, while nurturing a strong sense of social responsibility.
It is a privilege to be a part of each student’s life, and we invite them to embrace our vision of discovering Jesus, displaying love and developing self.

I encourage you to take time to ask your children how they are feeling about this year and how you, as a parent, can support them throughout 2022. We understand that there are many concerns and questions your child(ren) may have in this current COVID-19 season,
and it is our aim to provide a safe environment with staff that care very much for each student.

Continue to be confident in God’s love, sure in the knowledge that He is present, and trust that He will have His hand over all that happens this year.
