The who’s-who of Cedar’s Creative Arts students gathered together last week for the annual Cedar College SOULstice music festival.

Held in the new Creative Arts Centre, the audience was treated to a range of musical genres with performances by bands from Year 8 to Year 12, as well as some amazing solo and ensemble performances.

Cedar College has a growing and vibrant Creative Arts department that gives hands-on opportunities for students to be creative every day. Many of the students who performed at the SOULstice often spend their recess and lunch times in the Creative Arts facility, using the instruments there to learn, practise and create their own music.

This year, a number of awards were presented to continue to encourage and foster excellence within the Creative Arts at Cedar. Called “The Ceed” awards, they were presented for a range of achievements in the areas of writing, performing, acting, serving and technical ability. Congratulations to all of the award recipients including Actor of the Year, Sarah, and Musician of the Year, Lucy, both of whom have used their God-given creative talents to enhance The Arts at Cedar.
