The High School Academic Chapel, held in Week 2 of Term 1, celebrated the Year 12 SACE Results and the Academic successes of the Cedar College Class of 2017.

Cedar’s 2017 graduates achieved excellent results, and with University offers now available, the High School was updated on their achievements. Our 2017 Dux, Benjamin Duthie, was congratulated as well as our many high-achieving students. Four Year 11 Cedar students, Chloe Van Uitert, Cameron Walsh, Jacinta Wirth and Thomas Wright, who undertook accelerated studies last year were also recognised, along with 14 Year 11 students who received an A grade for their SACE Research Project.

On Tuesday 6th February, is was a pleasure to witness our Stage 2 Merit Award recipient from 2017 receive an award at Government House.

I was able to attend the Awards Ceremony, together with special guests Premier Jay Weatherill, Education Minister Dr Susan Close and the Governor of SA, the Honourable Hieu Van Le. Lochie Jackman received this award for his achievement of 20/20 for Stage 2 Food and Hospitality. We are very proud of his outstanding achievement, as well as Miss Samantha Zimmermann as his teacher, which is an additional highlight among our other Year 12 results from 2017. Well done, Lochie!

Mr Andrew Lock, Head of High School

Our 2017 Year 12 cohort achieved some remarkable results, with 100% SACE completion with 96% of students who pursued Tertiary Education receiving a First Preference offer.
