Inspiring Leadership

Tim Heading
Preparing Cedar College students for real life goes beyond the academic curriculum. It involves nurturing character, cultivating leadership, and providing practical opportunities for students to grow.

Developing the next generation of leaders begins with intentional training and meaningful experiences. Cedar College is blessed to have a strong group of student leaders this year, led by Mrs Nichole Tiller and Mr Andrew Mooney.

Last week, we were honoured to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, to our school. During her visit, Her Excellency spent an hour with our High School Prefects and Sports Captains, sharing invaluable insights from her distinguished career as a diplomat and now as Governor of our state.

Her Excellency spoke about the challenges and responsibilities of leadership, drawing on her experiences representing Australia around the world. Her words were not only inspiring but also deeply relevant, as our students reflected on what it means to lead with integrity, creativity, and courage.

Equipping Future Generations

This visit was an extraordinary opportunity for our student leaders, who also shared with Her Excellency how they are actively contributing to their school community. From organising events to mentoring younger students, they spoke with emerging confidence about how they are applying leadership in real and significant ways.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity our students had to learn from such a respected leader. Experiences like this help equip our students with the wisdom, vision, and confidence needed to lead well — both now and into the future.
