Grandparents came from far and wide, with around 340 visitors enjoying a special celebration morning with the Primary School students last week.

The early start called for a quick cup of tea and a biscuit, before settling in for the class presentations, which included songs, poems, videos and puppets. Perhaps the highlight of the morning was the opportunity for the grandparents to practice their “dabbing” technique, for a huge selfie shot orchestrated by the Year 3 teachers, while the Year 4s got in on the act, dressing up as grandparents themselves!

The grandparents then got interactive, with the opportunity to use iPads, program robots, build towers and aeroplanes, answer quizzes and create artwork. But perhaps it was the students who were the most excited, thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to spend time in their classrooms with their grandparents.

Thank you to all of the grandparents who joined us for the special day, and to Mrs Sarah Fernihough and the Primary School staff for creating a very memorable day for grandparents and grandchildren alike.
