“Reading is my Super Power”

Each year, across Australia, The CBCA brings children and books together celebrating Children’s Book Week. During this time Schools, Libraries, Booksellers, Authors, Illustrators and children celebrate Australian Children’s Literature.

2019 (R-6) Dress-up Theme:  “My Favourite Book Character”

The Cedar College Book Week Parade is always a highlight of the school year, with students and teachers making costumes from their favourite books, and dressing up on Parade Day.

Each year level has an open theme of “My Favourite Book Character”.  All Primary School students can dress as their favourite book character, and bring either the book or a copy of the front cover. Alternatively, students may wish to come as a super hero in keeping with the “Reading is My Super Power” theme.

Students should make their costumes at home, and are encouraged to enjoy the process of creating something fun from a book that they enjoy.

Parents/Caregivers and friends are welcome to attend the Parade from 9am in the Auditorium.
